Introduction
As a cradle for nurturing detector dogs, Detector Dog Trai ning Center is equipped with the best facilities and training programs as well as top-tier instructors to contribute to protecting public health and social safety from drugs and terrorist threats. The center is cultivating outstanding detector dogs and detection experts through systematic and scientific training and focusing on raising awareness of the harmful effect of drugs that ruin public health.
It was established in September 2001 on the site of 58.866㎡ within the government complex of Incheon International Airport after 4 years of construction.
History
- Jul 1987
- Started with 6 explosive detection dogs donated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the successful hosting of 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul
- Jan 1988
- The 6 explosive detection dogs started detection work
- Mar 2001
- Established as "Detection Training Division" of Incheon Airport Customs
- Sep 2001
- Completed "Customs Detector Dog Trai ning Center" of lncheon Airport Customs
- Jan 2002
- Integrated with "Narcotics Investigation Division" of the Korea Customs Service
- Nov 2003
- Seceded as "Drug Detection Division"
- Jan 2006
- Belonged to "Customs Border Control Training In stitute as "Detector Dog Training Center"

- Carried out a project for cloned detector dogs

- Hosted the 1st National Detector Dog Competition Commissioner's Cup

- Made a success of the project for cloned detector dogs

- Hosted the 2nd National Detector Dog Competition Commissioner's Cup

- Nurtured and assigned firearm detection dogs for the first time nationally while donated a dog to the military
